How to Delete Emails From Discovery Holds?

One of the mailbox receives around 1000s of emails daily which are processed and then deleted by an automated system.
The emails are no longer needed and the recoverable item quota is being filled up.
What is the best way to purge the recoverable items (discovery holds) and create some space?
