How To Troubleshoot Microsoft Teams Connection Issues?
The topic of Microsoft teams connection issues came up to my mind earlier this morning. I thought I would share this with everyone.
These are a couple of Microsoft teams app connectivity tests available when testing out Teams connectivity for call quality/performance and the same test can be performed for office 365 environment too.
Option 1:
The command shows the first point of entry into the Microsoft 365 Teams environment from your client machine.
Go to Command prompt and execute the below command.
tracert http://world.tr.teams.microsoft.com
***Analyze the # of hops the client experiences before they hit *.Outlook, Office, Skype, Bing, Breaking News, and Latest Videos. This measures the # of hops before you hit the first point of entry into Microsoft.
Option 2:
The second option is an overall visualization of the Office 365 Connectivity path for a user in a particular location.
NOTE: On this one use Edge (sorry) because there are additional tests available. Also, be aware this is general connectivity, not particular to any underlying service.
- Microsoft Edge (allows for advanced tests)
https://connectivity.office.com/ - Enter your city, country or “Locate me”
- Here is an example in Wake Forest, NC USA
These steps not only help you to perform Microsoft teams app connection issues but also check connection issues in office 365.
